Happy Thanksgiving from Ursuline Academy

November 21, 2011

Dear Ursuline community,

In this season of Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the many gifts and blessings we have here at Ursuline Academy.  At a time when we have so much for which to be grateful, it is important to pause and take time to count these blessings.

Thank you to the entire Ursuline community for working together and giving so generously of your time and talented creativity.  The recent Brescia Ball was a huge success thanks to your efforts.  Your generosity makes Ursuline Academy a special place to work, study, and grow!

In particular, thank you to the faculty and staff who embody the spirit of Serviam in their tireless efforts to create a positive and nurturing environment for your daughters.  With their dedication, all things are possible.

At our Thanksgiving liturgy on November 22, we will offer a special Memorial Mass for Mrs. Fran Lahey, a beloved former faculty member, and John Brendan O’Connor, Sister Mary O’Connor’s brother who passed away recently.   Although they are no longer with us, we continue to be grateful for their presence and influence in each of our lives.

We must also be grateful for the leadership of the Ursuline Sisters, especially Sister Angela Krippendorf o.s.u. ’59, who was honored at the Brescia Ball this past weekend.  We are blessed to have the sisters as models of faith, women who truly live Serviam each day.

I am honored to be leading Ursuline Academy.  Thank you for all that you do to advance the mission of the Ursuline Sisters!

Have a restful and blessed Thanksgiving!
